Map of the flight

Saturday morning was forecast light from the north, picking up later. I lifted off second for a change, staying low to remain slow. Track was keeping me between Rt10 and I-84 so I climbed a little to shift left, heading for Southington center. Tracking over the bike path, missed a shift into one open area and continued on to finally land behind the elementary school with one other balloon.

Saturday evening was a bit gusty, but eventually dropped in time for a flight. All the prior balloons were heading south, I launched and headed north-west! Really dragging over the tree tops and dropping into low areas to keep the speed down. Eventually found ourselves approaching the ESPN North Campus. The parking lot on the back side was too narrow, the main parking was too far right, but as we crossed the roof the front parking lot was wide enough and empty of everything but a center fire hydrant. Set down to the left and slid to a stop at the far curb. The crew was escorted in by security.

Sunday morning was again light but increasing from the north. Again the flight was mostly at tree top level to keep the speed down. As we got down toward I-84 I climbed into the faster winds to turn right and line up with my Hotel and the industrial area. Other balloons were also targeting that area. Dropped over a tree line into an empty parking lot with only parimeter lights and the crew was right there.
