The forecast during the week was promising but not clear cut. Even Friday evening was a little questionable with SE winds. The morning forecast had continued to improve with light surface, RUC, and winds aloft.

Rudi and I were the only balloons this morning. The pi-bal went up and finally drifted NNW, I took off first and drifted E past Rudi then climbed a bit above to drift W toward the runway. Dropped lower over the airplane parking and turned S! Rudi (Rhonda) took off and followed S. We crossed the grass strip and continued slowly S over the trees, dropping into openings to slow even further. Got to the new homes and floated around a while talking to the chase crews. While it took forever at treetop level, when we climbed to turn back N we could see how short the forest was.

Our initial track would carry us back to the parking log launch site but we both slowed and turned right (E). Rudi ended up at the corner of the driveway. I went a bit further N, crossed the road, dropped and came back to the neighborhood road to land and deflate.
