Last week it was cold an very very wet. This weekend we have great weather. Clear sky's and calm winds. Bob was supposed to be flying DCU, possibly down around Hudson/Marlboro, but we never saw him. He never saw us. Clipping tree tops most of the way must have made it too difficult! We also didn't see Jim up, and with this great weekend I thought he might be out. We flew a reasonably straight line SE. Down low we turned left, up higher turned right. We stayed low enough to stay east of the big antenna in Sudbury. Went low over a very glassy pond. No wind to disturb the surface and very difficult to judge height. The GPS showed us crossing tow roads beyond the pond, but they turned out to be dirt tracks. After missing some yards, we popped up to turn right and get a better look ahead. Approaching RT 20 we could see open areas. Ended up landing at a farm. |
