The weather was not kind to ballooning this year.

We were unable to fly Friday and Saturday due to winds and rain.

Sunday morning was clear and calm, but it was forecast to get windy again during the day. We got off the ground as early as possible and headed east toward Torrington. While we moved more quickly crossing the higher ridges, we slowed down in the valleys. By the time we reached the edge of Torrington it was light and variable. So light and variable that the challenge was to move far enough in a controlled direction to pick a landing site. We missed a couple of parking lots, but finally found about a 30 degree shift that lasted long enough to spiral into a third parking lot. This wind held true to the point we didn't need the drop line to hit the center.

At least the flight we managed was pleasant with the balloons staying together for visual company, sunshine, and light winds.
